Mercedes-Benz South West has put local businesses firmly in the driving seat when it comes to finding their perfect vehicles with the appointment of Rick Metcalfe as Local Business Development Manager.
Based out of Mercedes-Benz of Plymouth and Mercedes-Benz of Truro, but also catering for corporate customers throughout the rest of Cornwall, Rick offers a dedicated point of contact for local firms.
With over 30 years of motor industry experience, including 13 years with another Mercedes-Benz retail group and a further nine years with other prestige manufacturers, Rick is able to expertly advise on all aspects of a business purchase in a straightforward and concise way. Whether local firms run fleets ranging from a single vehicle to several hundred they can all benefit from Rick’s knowledge on finding the most tax-efficient and cost-effective vehicles for their needs.
Rick, who has previously played golf at county level and was the Somerset County President in 2007 and Captain from 1995-1996, has certainly got into the swing of his new role. Although it is only a few weeks since his appointment, he has been kept busy with the requests of the region’s businesses and a number of those new to the Mercedes-Benz brand have placed orders after consulting him.
Working in conjunction with his counterpart Andrew Storey-Barrett who provides the same invaluable assistance to firms throughout Devon and Somerset, Rick, 51, is certainly enjoying putting his expertise to good use.
“It’s great to be meeting companies and demonstrating how affordable a Mercedes-Benz is, the strong residual values meaning that they can operate a prestige model for a lot lower than they may imagine and in many cases the monthly cost rivaling that of many vehicles from ‘volume’ manufacturers,” said Rick, who lives with his wife in Camelford.
“For example, one company is now enjoying a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI SE after I showed them that for their allocated monthly budget they could have the C-Class for what they were going to spend on a similarly-sized saloon from a non-prestige manufacturer.”
Rick continued: “There’s good news for the driver too, as the emissions of Mercedes-Benz lower the BIK taxation considerably, the C-Class emitting as little as 117g/km CO2 and offering BIK from only 13 per cent."
Local businesses who would like a no-obligation appraisal of their fleet or would like to discuss how running a Mercedes-Benz can have financial benefits for their business, are invited to call Rick direct on 07887 417099.
